Weekend Living
Thursday, June 11, 2015 Maz
Weekends are the best days of the week.
Everybody loves them.
Everybody wants to get to the end of the week to feel relived.
Relived from the boring and mundane job we do during the week.
Well if we live for the weekends, it means we spend 5 days a week waiting for the weekends.
We are almost wasting 70% of our adult life hoping for the 30%.
This is called weekend living.
So Thank God It's Friday (TGIF) because I have lost most of my week!
Embracing Chaos
Wednesday, June 10, 2015 Maz
We human are a pattern seeking animals.
We have been evolved to seek a better life by trial and error.
The trial and error method is a lengthy and time consuming process in which we have to keep many of the variables constant to conclude the results.
This method has been by far the best solution that we came up with.
Most of the time it is predictable and needs us to behave in system and order.
This is good but not great.
The only way to achieve greatness is by accepting the chaos.
By not following the orders and systems. When necessary.
Understanding this makes us not just good, but great!
Sometimes chaos can make us think outside the box.
It makes us think different and work without discipline.
Once we accept that our lives are chaotic and unpredictable then we can embrace it.
Embrace chaos!
To achieve greatness we need to accept chaos.
Limited Mental Energy
Tuesday, June 09, 2015 Maz
Mental energy is an ability to get things done and we have a limited amount of it.
Once it is used, it takes a long time to recharge. Usually a day!
The more we say YES to any task, we spend more mental energy on that specific task/Activity.
So for every YES we say, we invest.
It is worth monitoring where we are investing our limited mental energy.
Because some of the activities we invest in will not bear any fruit.
It does not reward us enough to recharge our mental energy.
Activities such as watching NEWS, reading tabloids, hanging out with negative/toxic people and so on.
There are other activities/tasks we can do in order to recharge faster like going to GYM, reading a book or being around friends and family.
These activities generally make us feel better emotionally and recharge our mental energy faster.
We have a limited number of YES per day, use it wisely.
Trade Off
Thursday, June 04, 2015 Maz
We all want to have the great life.
Health, wealth, love and happiness.
But not many of us understand that, to get something we need to lose another.
This is trade off.
If we want to lose weight, we have trade it off with all the tasty/calorific foods.
If we want to have more income, we have to trade it off with easy spendings.
If we want to have a better love, we have to trade it off with selfish needs.
If we want to have be happy, we have to trade it off with short pleasures.
Just like Newton's third Law:
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction
So if I want to achieve "A" we need to trade it off with "B".
You fill in the blanks.
Frustration Inside
Wednesday, June 03, 2015 Maz
When we are frustrated, we bark at the wrong tree.
We complain to all other external forces that exist around us.
We blame anyone but ourselves.
It makes us go crazy.
It makes us not to see the reality.
The truth.
Frustration comes from within, not from the outside.
It comes from the point that what I do, don't work or pay off.
The blue-prints given to us has stopped working since the dawn of time.
So the easiest option is to play the the blaming game and curse our luck.
When we are frustrated it better to assess the problem from inside out rather than outside in.
Our frustration comes from the point of blindly following someone else's blue-print and wondering why it doesn't work for us.
As Mark Twain said:
"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect"
Mental Slavery
Monday, June 01, 2015 Maz
Most of us know by now that we cannot take group of people and force them to work for us as slaves.
There are laws against slavery and there are huge punishments involved.
There are movies made and awards given to shame and stop physical slavery.
At the same time we never pay any attention to our thoughts and beliefs.
Some ideas or beliefs can take us as a slave. A Mental Slave.
Unfortunately we don't know what is the protocol for mental slavery.
We may fall as a victim.
As a victim of our own beliefs or someone else's.
Unconsciously we choose to be a mental slave rather than a physical one.
Slavery should be avoided at all cost, no matter if it is physical or mental.
